Residents of Tolworth have been invited to have their say on plans for the future of their area. Kingston Council along with the Greater London Authority (GLA) and Transport for London (TfL) have jointly commissioned the urban planning consultancy We Made That to develop a transformation programme for Tolworth, known as the Tolworth Area Plan (TAP).

The TAP sets out a future vision for Tolworth to help inspire new development and initiatives capable of delivering physical, social and economic improvements. The TAP will help to focus discussions around the form and type of future development, promoting coherence and consistency between individual projects.

Work on the TAP has been progressing since last year when early engagement was undertaken with business partners, local councillors and community groups. This was followed by community drop-in sessions in June, when 345 members of the public took the opportunity to have their say on the plans being drawn up. The information gathered during the early engagement events was taken into account when drafting the Tolworth Area Plan.

The public consultation ran from 9 October to the 5 November 2017 and sought to gain feedback on the draft document by means of a survey.
